As per the latest media reports, China-based world's largest telecoms equipment manufacturer, Huawei Technologies will double its staff salaries in October with a "bonus".

According to the internal memo (accessed by the Nikkei Asian Review), bonuses will be distributed to all active employees of Huawei and its direct subsidiaries with a performance rating above C and no information security violations. The bonus will be equal to each staff member's base October salary.

Besides the shared bonus, each employee will receive double their salary as appreciation for efforts to help the company get through the hard times. A total of 190,000 employees will be benefited from theses steps which are taken by the company in appreciation of efforts (made by the employees) to help the company get through the "hard times" i.e., US-led technology sanctions (due to US national security concerns). The reason for it; Huawei is suspected of passing sensitive data through "built-in backdoors" to the Chinese state intelligence agencies. The company is defending itself against these allegations.

On November 10, the company marked 180 days since it was put on a US trade blacklist, which prompted company-wide efforts "to stabilize operations that were cut off from certain American technologies, including Google’s Android OS."

According to the sources, company has allocated "a special cash award worth 2 billion yuan (US$285.4 million) to distribute among employees who have contributed to its contingency plan to help minimize the impact of the ban."

Kindly do note: Earlier in July 2019, the company has rewarded employees for accelerating revenue despite American sanctions.
