Russia Unveils Ruwiki as a Response to Wikipedia, Amidst Increasing Government Oversight

 On January 15, Russia unveiled Ruwiki, its very own version of the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia (based on MediaWiki software). According to reports from Russian media outlet Kommersant, the beta testing phase for Ruwiki commenced in mid-2023 and has already shown promising results.
